Founded in Grenoble in 2007, by a university professor looking to provide improved equal opportunity among his students; THEIA was an early pioneer in implementing e-learning and digital examinations. By developing a technology able to deliver synchronous exam sessions to tens of thousands of students across dozens of campuses, THEIA’s ambitious project enabled French medical faculties to digitalise the 6th year national medical exam. With more than a hundred academic and corporate partners, including Telecom Paris (#1 engineering school), the medical faculty of Paris-Saclay (#1 medical faculty), HEC Paris (#1 business school), and ESBanque (#1 banking training institute), THEIA now addresses all disciplines across higher and further education. Building upon THEIA’s daily proximity to academic users, it is able to combine technology and pedagogy to fulfill the needs of its partner institutions. With 250,000 users and more than 80 million exams completed, THEIA’s aim is to generalise digital examination for the 18 million European students thereby simplifying teachers lives and improving equal opportunity among students.
